I'm an IT consultant with more than 15 years of experience and I specialize in Linux operating systems, open source software, particularly mail servers, directories and ticket management systems.  These days I spend most of my time on selling and supporting Google Apps for Business. y first computer was a Sinclair ZX81.  I wish I kept that A computer with 1k of RAM and a tiny keyboard with shortcut sequences for typing BASIC.
fter the ZX81, we got an Amstrad CPC 664.  It had a floppy drive, color graphics and sound.  The games were fun and plentiful.
uring university I discovered Linux based operating systems.  I first installed Red Hat 2.1, later I started using Debian, but my favorite Linux distribution is Gentoo.

What does 'Mad' in Madtechsupport stand for? Well, it was once, "Mum and Dad" tech support, it could be "Magnificent and Dynamic" tech support, at times it's been "Manager and Director" tech support, but it's "Mad About the Details" tech support that seems the best fit.  Attention to detail or being thorough is a characteristic of the way I work and is, I feel, a necessary attribute for good IT support person.  As the saying goes, "if a jobs worth doing, it's worth doing properly".  Read More
